LLL team members were proud to step out with our Platinum Partners Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS) in support of their Melbourne Walk My Way fundraising event, which also served as the launchpad for the LLL $75k Matching Appeal.
Head of Client Relationships Sam and Communications Officer Jason joined over 130 walkers at Good News Lutheran College, Tarneit, on Sunday 30 March, to enjoy the atmosphere of the Community Hub and take on the course that followed the Werribee River.
"Thanks to our missional partnership with our investors, we're extremely proud and honoured to support this event; the work that ALWS does is critical in communities in some of the poorest regions in the world," Sam told the gathering.
"So, we are proud to announce that, in addition to our Platinum Partnership support, LLL is celebrating ALWS' 75th anniversary by matching donations to ALWS, dollar-for-dollar, to the value of $75,000."
The LLL $75k Matching Appeal will double the impact of donations to ALWS until 27 June 2025, raising vital funds to help ALWS achieve their goal of providing 75,000 children with the essentials for a happy, healthy life - food, school and safety.

"We were really pleased with the attendance and participation in our Walk My Way Melbourne," ALWS Community Engagement Manager Aaron Glover said of the event that helped provide vital support to over 750 children in need.
"It was wonderful to be at Good News and partner with them as we step out to change the lives of 75,000 vulnerable children around the world, impacted by poverty and war.
"It was really special to have our Platinum Partners at LLL in attendance; they're not just our partners in words they're our partners in deeds and actions."

The Community Hub, featuring food trucks and live entertainment, as well as the start-finish line, was situated on the grounds of Good News, next to the new Farmhouse Kinder facility; one of several groundbreaking projects carried out by the College in partnership with LLL.
"We're honoured to host and stand together for such a meaningful cause," Good News Principal Fiona McAuliffe said.
"ALWS plays a vital role in bringing hope, care, and practical support to communities in need around the world.
"Their work reflects the values that we hold dear here at GNLC; compassion, service and a commitment to making a positive difference.
"Together we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of others."
There are two more Walk My Way events coming up, with an opportunity to get involved in Adelaide on Saturday, 3 May, and in Brisbane on Saturday, 10 May.
