Thousands of children have received much-needed support thanks to the generosity of people across the country who stepped out for Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS) Walk My Way events, proudly supported by LLL.
After successful walks in Albury, Melbourne and Adelaide, Brisbane proved a fitting finale for this year's key fundraising walk events.
Around 600 people braved the elements to take in the picturesque walk that started and finished at QUT Gardens Point campus and wound along the southern bank of the Brisbane River, Queensland, on Saturday, 10 May.
Over $65,000 was raised to support vulnerable children impacted by poverty and war in Ukraine, Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya, Burundi, Bangladesh and Nepal.
LLL Chair Steve Podlich, Communications Officer Jason, and Lutheran Tract Mission Tract Development Officer Anne were delighted to step out in support of LLL's Platinum Partners.

"It's just wonderful that LLL is advancing gospel-centred mission and ministry by supporting the ALWS, who do a fantastic job," Steve said.
"I'm just so proud to be partners in the gospel with them in such an event like this where funds raised support underprivileged families in parts of the world that are doing it really tough.
"That's what we're about, so it's a privilege and an honour to be here."

On the day the generosity of donors was doubled thanks to the LLL $75k Matching Appeal, with donations up to $75,000 matched dollar-for-dollar in support of ALWS, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary with the bold goal to support 75,000 children.
"As old as ALWS is, the need for our service has not diminished our time," ALWS Community Engagement Officer Aaron Glover said.
"In fact, the need is just as great today as when we started.
"That's why we are excited to welcome walkers to be a part of making a difference.

"I'd like to give thanks to our Platinum Partners LLL Australia for their tremendous support, not just today but throughout the year, with our ministry.
"The mark of how good LLL and our event partners are is how much they contribute … they turn up and they volunteer to make this day possible."
