How quickly time flies! Encounter Lutheran College's wonderful Early Learning Centre, Lighthouse Early Learning, has turned one.
Encounter, a pillar of the local community in the coastal town of Victor Harbor SA, marked Lighthouse's first birthday with a fun-filled party, featuring cake, games and face painting.

Innovative Encounter completed two groundbreaking construction projects in 2024 with the support of LLL Loans.
Lighthouse welcomed the community's littlest learners, while the impressive Wilderness Centre, an imposing structure situated on a 69-acre block, has four main Middle School learning areas: a kitchen, a science lab, an art studio and a digital technology studio.
The design of the cutting-edge building allowing seamless movement between indoor learning spaces and the sprawling fields just outside.
Lighthouse features a bespoke nature playground, along with modern and secure facilities, catering for eager learners between three and five-years-old.
The building's clever design has turned a small wedge of land into a wonderful asset for the school and community.

Truly heartwarming
"It's been a truly heartwarming first year," said Vanessa Harvie, Director of Early Learning.
"Our nurturing, play-based environment fosters curiosity, creativity, and confidence, providing a strong foundation for school readiness. With a focus on child-centred learning, we support young learners on their journey through pre-school and beyond at Encounter Lutheran College."
One of the most striking features of the state-of-the-art building (pictured below) is the colourful beach huts on the exterior wall that faces onto Adelaide Road, that are also functional spaces for the children to use on the inside.
