The strength of the missional partnership between Peace Lutheran College and LLL was on display when LLL Team Members joined a wonderful community working bee at the school's expansive Cairns, Queensland, campus.
Principal Shane Jurecky (above) welcomed College staff, members of the Trinity Lutheran Church congregation and LLL Communications Officer Jason and Solutions Analyst Deepak for two days of painting and gardening as part of an ongoing redevelopment program.
"We've done some planting around our facilities and painted a number of our buildings to freshen things up," Shane said.
"We're currently going through a redevelopment phase with the refurbishment of classrooms.
"We celebrated our 30th anniversary last year, so we're in the midst of a refurb across our school facilities. We've done our Primary School and now we're working our way through, and eventually our Senior Secondary buildings will have a refurb as well."

New Kindergarten proves popular
Situated adjacent to the beautiful Barron Gorge National Park, Peace opened a brand-new Kindergarten, built with the aid of an LLL Loan, at the start of 2025.
The state-of-the-art facility has space for up to 60 little learners and quickly proved popular with families in the region.
"For 2026 we're full, and we actually have a waiting list, which is absolutely amazing," Shane said.
"The benefit for us is that the three rooms of Kindy students will then flow into our Primary School, and we have currently two Prep classes that we take through all the way to the end of Year Six."

A proud partnership
LLL Team Members Jason and Deepak were proud to support our long-time partners and enjoy the school's welcoming and friendly community atmosphere.
"I just want to say, 'Thank you' to LLL," Shane said.
"You have been fantastic partners for Peace Lutheran College, both in terms of being physically here participating in the working bee, but also your financial support has been a tremendous blessing to us.
"We thank LLL very much for all your continued support."
