Congratulations to our good friends and Platinum Partners Lutheran Youth of Queensland (LYQ) on the stunning success of this year's LYQ Appeal Dinner, proudly sponsored by LLL.

"Young people are awesome! They absolutely are."

The trademark refrain of LYQ Executive Director Darren Pope rang out at the wonderful evening of fellowship at Brisbane's Marquee at Victoria Park that raised vital funds for the not-for-profit charity.

Proceeds from silent and live auctions, a raffle, lucky dip wines, pledges, and donations combined to raise vital funds that reached LYQ's target of $75,000.

The only problem was Darren couldn't be there!

Struck down with an untimely illness, Darren delivered his address via pre-recorded video.

"I hold a deep conviction that young people are not just our future decision makers and leaders, they are leaders and influential change agents right now," he said.

"They have a desire to partner with each of us in an authentic and respectful way to make a real and positive difference.

"LYQ is here to grow connected, hope-filled people, sharing the gospel and sowing seeds of hope into 21,000 young lives each year.

"Tonight, we come together as a community of grace, to wholeheartedly support young people in their life-long journey to grow as connected, hope-filled people."

LLL Chief Relationship Officer Scott Ross and Head of Client Relationships Sam Kukic were delighted to be on hand to support our Platinum Partners at their cornerstone fundraising event.

Scott was honoured to address the gathering to reaffirm LLL's commitment to LYQ and highlight our focus on supporting communities across the country.

"It was a fantastic night and we are thrilled that vital funds were raised to support the important work that LYQ does," Scott reflected.

"It was great to see so many like-minded people gather together and give generously to such a worthy cause.

"Both LLL and LYQ hold a deep-seated belief in the inherent worth and unique potential of young people.

"The success of this year's dinner reaffirmed that our shared missional goals continue to underpin our long-standing partnership that is focussed on creating positive outcomes for young people and families in the community."
